Hey blog, it’s your Gworl Dasia and I’m back from a long break off of ministry. It’s so good to be back. I hope things has been well and if it hasn’t God is still good and He still loves you. I’ve posted some content on my YouTube “ThatChristianGworl” definitely be sure to subscribe. I’ll have the season 3 podcast episode dropping this upcoming Thursday and it’s already premiered on my YouTube so turn them post notifications on. Now y’all already know blogs are really straight to the point yet still encouraging as my podcast are more deeper in revelation and in personal experiences and biblical experiences.
Wilderness is such a term that when you think of it it’s like thinking of the desert some dry place where nothing is happening. The Hebrew word for the desert is MIDBAR. Because there are no vowels in Hebrew, the letters that spell it out are M-D-B-R. Coincidentally, this is also how you spell another Hebrew word, MEDABER – to speak.

God brought the Israelites into the wilderness, because He wanted to speak to them at Mount Sinai. This is where He spoke to Moses. In the wilderness God met with Elijah. It was in the desert when God spoke to John the Baptist, who spent most of his life in these rough conditions.
Often times God leads us into the wilderness aka a place of no distraction where it’s just us and God to begin to know our identity in Him alone. We begin to learn His voice, the gifts he desires us to use to accomplish His purpose, to solely depend on God. God sent the Israelites manna during they time in the wilderness; he didn't leave them empty handed. He didn’t leave them to starve. God will never leave us empty handed there’s always something He’s given us to steward and use for purpose.
Exodus 16:3-5 “The Israelites said to them, “If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death.” Then the Lord said to Moses, “I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions. On the sixth day they are to prepare what they bring in, and that is to be twice as much as they gather on the other days.”
The Israelites thought God forgot about them; they even was so discouraged and in despair they wanted to go back to slavery just to have better provided for them. As children of God, we have no need to go back to the thing that held us captive and bondage just because it “felt” good at the time. Everything that seems to be good ain’t God. God will supply our every needs we don’t have to be in bondage to have things in life we can have freedom and allow our dependency to be on God.
Philippians 4:19 “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”
The devil can sometimes come dressed up as everything you want but he’ll have you in bondage doing so. Even Jesus got tempted in the wilderness; we discover this in Luke 4. Jesus stood on God's word he rebuked and disagreed with the enemy and agreed with what God said. Jesus quoted in the Old Testament scriptures the word of God is powerful. Hebrews 4:12. Matter of fact Jesus choose the wilderness he choose to spend time with God with no distractions. Meanwhile God had to lead the Israelites into the wilderness before their promise land. The Israelites was rebellious so they would’ve never had chosen something that was uncomfortable. Growth happens in uncomfortable situations though. God doesn’t bring us to wilderness for fun he bring us there to learn and grow with Him. To accomplish His purpose.

Notice how the Israelites also stayed in the wilderness nd wandered for 40 years isn’t that absurd. Numbers 32:13 “So the Lord’s anger was kindled against the sons of Israel (Jacob) and He made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until the entire generation of those who had done evil in the sight of the Lord was destroyed”. I encourage you don’t be like the Israelites learn from they mistakes. When we rebel, and refuse to learn the things of God , we will be kept in that season until we learn what he’s trying to teach us. You ever was in a season like Lord where’s my breakthrough your breakthrough is on the other side of your obedience to Him.
During my wilderness I was alone just me and God this was the beginning of my walk with Christ. I was in my honeymoon stage with God. Then I had this sudden wave of discomfort of where's God? He was there the entire time but not in the ways I wanted. He spoke to me. I learnt His voice but I also was tempted by the devil and I feel into that temptation went through all this condemnation , guilt and shame which isn't of God by the way. Only conviction is there's a difference. My wilderness season was lonely. I didn't have Christian friends, I didn't have much but just me, God, my apartment and car. I had a family church but I wanted more community. Til this day I still have no community. I do have a church. I do have 2 Christian friends and a couple of acquaintances. So I'm not far from the wilderness but I'm not close to it anymore. I took that time to truly discover who God is. He provided for me just like he did the Israelites with manna.

The wilderness is a necessary season of growth don't neglect it. It is a season of increased intimacy with the Lord, where there’s no distractions. We must choose Him. Choose to fast. Choose to pray. Despite how uncomfortable the season is.
That wraps up my blog for today, y’all stay encouraged and stay tuned for the podcast this Thursday. Stay blessed!
